In The Storyteller, an elderly Blackfoot Indian sits cross-legged on the ground and gestures skyward while he recalls for the young man and children gathered about him a tale of their people. The elder may be speaking of the origins of the tribe, of religious mythology or of noteworthy brave and masterful deeds. In turn, the next generation will produce its own spellbinding storytellers.
